Sample IELTS Writing

 February 16, 2015

By  IELTS

I recently came across a post here about the sample IELTS writing test and I thought it would be nice to share it with you. This post contains sample essays that can be useful to test takers who want to increase their chance in passing the test. I personally believe that practicing and making use of samples and study materials can be really helpful to students or test takers. During my classes, I normally distribute some very useful reading materials and other resources to my students. Anyway, please check out this post:

Random Book and Movie Reviews: Sample IELTS Writing

http://joelswagman.blogspot.com/2014/12/sample-ielts-writing.html(TESOL Worksheets) I’ve been teaching IELTS over the past couple years, and during that time I have struggled with figuring out how best to improve the students’ writing.

Eventually I’ve decided that the primary reason my students did so poorly with IELTS essays is simply because they haven’t had enough exposure to the genre.

Since all writing ultimately springs out of reading, I decided the best way to improve my students’ IELTS writing was simply to flood them with input of sample IELTS essays.

So…where to find sample IELTS essays? See more…

Here is another post about IELTS writing, but it is focused on the Academic essays. I decided to post this here mainly because this can be very useful to individuals who are learning how to write and nail the writing section of the IELTS test. Please have a look:

Sample IELTS Academic Essays – Writing Component | Alicia Loh

http://www.alicialoh.com/2014/09/sample-ielts-academic-essays-writing.htmlHey all. Here are two of my IELTS essays for the writing component of the academic version of the test, as promised. There is one sample for Part 1, and one for Part 2. They were graded 8.5 out of 9.0 by a person who doesn’t give 9.0. No mistakes that are apparent. Just sharing as some of my friends have been asking for samples, and I hope they help! You can download these essays as PDFs HERE (the preview below shows one of them). For the writing component, just be straightforward, and remember the word count. Have good structure, and logical points. See more…
